St. Louis, Missouri −One of our Surgical Services Nurse Residents has been nationally recognized as an extraordinary nurse! Melinda Johnson received the DAISY Award from the DAISY Foundation.

Here’s what one patient’s mother had to say about her:  “Nurse Melinda is a prime example of why we choose Cook Children’s. Her professionalism and extraordinary bedside manner helped to ease the very stressful situation of our son’s surgery. This is the first time he has ever been in the hospital, so we were upset. She comforted me and my baby, and helped lead to a successful surgery.  Her love for pediatrics was conveyed through her professionalism. We’re very lucky to have nurses like Nurse Melinda.”
